Pastoral Care & Safeguarding

‘Love your neighbour as yourself’

PASTORAL CARE AND SAFEGUARDING

What do parish safeguarding officers do?
  • They listen if anyone—child, young person, or adult—has a worry or feels unsafe.
  • They take concerns seriously and know what to do to help.
  • They make sure church activities are run safely and that volunteers are supported and trained.
  • They keep safeguarding at the heart of parish life.
Why is this important?
Sometimes people don’t know who to turn to if they feel uncomfortable, worried, or unsafe. The PSO is here as a trusted person you can talk to. They will listen, and they will take steps to protect and support you.
In short:
The PSO is here for you. If something doesn’t feel right, or you have a concern about yourself or someone else, please speak to them. You don’t need to have all the details—just sharing your worry is enough.

PRAYER AND PASTORAL CARE

As a family of churches in rural parishes it is important that we all play our part in praying and caring for one another. In addition to the prayer, care, support and friendship you will find in our congregations we also have a small Pastoral Care Team who are trained to be able to signpost and offer specific, practical, prayerful and friendly support, particularly in times of illness or bereavement. We are also able to help organise lifts to church, visits (including to receive Home Communion) from members of our pastoral team and to ensure you remain
prayed for by others in the church in times of need.

If you would like to learn more about our Pastoral Care network, please contact Pastoral Assistant Delyth Allen, delythallen58@gmail.com in the first instance, or get in touch with our rector through the benefice office.
